A very touching song. thanks, Jason for the lyrics! TO FRIEND Monologue: Dec. 2003, from friend I learnt you already left. My heartached, no suitable facial expression to express myself. After I finished my work, I myself drove home, feeling so cold. Ah, winter has already come. Flying out of the valley of life and death, get rid of the burden of the body, just like fall asleep, feel so comfortable when awake. Only beg people don't cry, don't aggravate the grief. Let me live the last minute without any pressure, just like going to another place to have a beautiful dream North wind is getting stronger, remember to put on more clothes. If you can understand me completely, eventually will be able to overcome sorrow. Traveling in timeless space, in tremendous speed, no crowd of this early world, let me have more space, I can take a good rest today. Soul is still flying, wishing to find a piece of green land. Stop to take another look, then will fly higher. Even the whole life is like an extremely beautiful legend, just like bitter cold winter weather, still there is time to think about (???) . Goodbye to the world, good friends on this side will send you blessings everyday, even leave for distant place..... Monologue: On the way, I didn't see anyone or any car, especially feel lonely. Turn on the radio, only repeatedly heard the news that you left. I looked out of the window, only felt the sky was so dark, really so dark! reperat 4th paragraph Monologue: Today the road back to home seems especially long. Finally I got home.....how about you? repeat 3rd paragraph |

Correction: 3rd paragraph, "early world" should be "earthly" world. Jason: you are right, fans will cry when they hear this song. But I think Jacky Cheung, on behalf of Mui, and by this song, tries to tell us to get out of grief "if you can understand me completely, eventually you will overcome sorrow"! |

Thanks Jason for sharing this song from Jacky Cheung to Mui Jei. I don't live in HK, so I didn't know about this song, I'm very happy that you put it in this forum. And million thanks again to Woodstock for translation and sharing for everything about Mui Jei. Without you, I didn't know this song is so touching... Mui Jei, miss you forever. |

Woodstock, Angel, Do you feel Jacky was holding his breath, heard like he was crying silently and with very true feeling, when he read the monologue? I was touched and felt the same pain when I heard it from the website Woodstock posted. By reading the lyric alone, I really do not understand. I'm quite dumb and very slow in getting the real meaning of poem and poetry or lyric written in a sophisticated complicated way such as this. Can Woodstock kindly briefly explain each of the line in more detail? Thanks a lot. |

The monologue actually missed the first opening line: "Midnight 3.00am" With the timing, I'm now certain the monologue was written by Jacky for Anita. Jacky didn't confirm and you knew they were 3 left the world in December 2003. He said he was writing to all his late friends. Now, I know the monologue and lyric are meant for Anita. |

My mistake. I heard it wrongly. no mentioning of midnight 3.00am. But it is obvious he wrote the monologue for Anita. Sumimasen. |

Dear Jason, I can not listen to this song even Woodstock posted the link because the pc that I'm using, can not recognize Chinese characters name files, so I need to ask someone to help me, but when I read the English translation, I feel already very touching...thanks again for sharing. |

Jason: I didn't get to hear the song, because I don't have Realplayer installed in my PC, but I can imagine how Jacky Cheung felt when he performed this song. He is a very good friend/relative of Mui Jei, and he is a very sincere person. This song basically describes the moment the person died and how Jacky felt. I assume the person was Mui Jei, though Jacky said this song was for a few friends who died. The soul left the body, leaving this world. She was relieved from the sick body. There was no pain, just like fell asleep, but she felt so comfortable when she woke up. However she begged people not to cry, not to feel sad, because that would only give her pressure. She was just going to another world. If you can really understand her, you will not feel sad for her. She was traveling freely in space, no crowd of this world. She wanted more space, no pressure, so that she could take a good rest. Her soul was still travelling. She would stop to have a last look of this world, and then she would rise to a higher level and leave forever. Even her life in this world was a beautiful legend, there were difficult times. She was travelling to another place, but her all friends here were still sending her blessings. In the monologue, Jacky was telling us he was very sad when he heard the news that she passed away. When he drove home from work, he heard the news on radio about her demise repeatedly. And he felt the road was espcially long, Finally he arrived home......he was wondering if Mui Jei had arrived at her destination yet. |

So the main part of this song was about Mui Jei telling us how her soul left her body and travelled to another world, and she asked us not to feel sad about her demise, as she got relieved from her sick body and from pressure of this world. |

Dear Woodstock, thank you for your very clear explanation for the meaning of this song, really hope Mui Jei is now in the place that is full with love, happiness and peace. Mui Jei, I miss you... |

Hi to all!!!! Jason thanks for bringing this up here, and to Woodstock thank you so much for translating the song into the medium we all understand, I really believe that Jacky Cheung's friendship with Anita is a genuine one, and I'm so happy for Anita that the friendship she planted and invested with her time, talent and treasure while she was still alive grows and develop into a beautiful lasting one even though now that she's gone....Anita is such a blessing and she is truly a person worthy of giving and accepting love...i just hope that those people(so lucky for them!) whom their lives were touched by her during her lifetime will forever cherish and treasure her. p.s. i'd love to listen to the song (thanks to Woodstock for giving us the link)...can anybody help me get through it cause we all know the link is in Chinese, so please guide me accordingly what to tick for me to hear the music....thank you so much in advance. |

Angel: actually all of us miss her, you are not alone! June: for listening, just get to that website, that song is #7 on the list, so just tick at the square in front of the song, and then click at the ear-phone, if you have RealOne, you will be able to hear it. Happy trying! |

Thanks Woodstock for your detailed explanation on the lyric. All of you must not missed the monologue part because you could feel the pain the moment you hear Jacky reading them through his sob (like you were the one who read it) especially on the part "no suitable facial expression to express myself." Although the meaning is to reduce our heartache in losing Anita, but I can tell you the moment you listen to it, you will like it to be in the billboard and will never let go for few hours, repeatedly listening to his monologue. This is a must. Woodstock, why not you download the RealPlayer which will be automatically prompted. It is a free software. Please all try to listen to it once. |

Yah, you are right. The lyric represents Anita's wishes to all of us. |

What a great disappointment. Jacky finally confessed he wrote the monologue for Siew Hak and the lyric for all his late friends. Actually on the night of December 2003, it was his feeling at that moment when he heard the news of death of Siew Hak.....So it was not Anita the main friend he is crying over...... mms://media.tvb.com/asu/infotain/starbiz/2004/0422/02_300k.asf |

Woodstick, I read your comments here and there and I find you rude and disrespect to Woodstock for using a pseudonym closer to her, makes us confused if we are not careful enough to differentiate. Please do have respects for readers here and try not to use attacking words. |

Jason: Don't be too diasppointed at Jacky Cheung, because in my message on Apr 21st, 2004 - 6:24 PM, I already mentioned that Jacky said this song was for a few deceased friends. But we thought it was Mui due to their close relationship. Actually Jacky was very nice to Siew Hak too. I read in the news that when Siew Hak needed fund for organizing his jump over Yellow River, it was Jacky who gave him the money. Also it was suspected Jacky paid the charges for his funeral. His sudden death naturally would bring lots of memory and pain to Jacky. The lyric is defintely more about Mui Jei than Siew Hak. Because only Mui Jei would be so caring, telling him/us to put on more clothes as winter was approaching; only Mui Jei told us not to cry, because Siew Hak died suddenly, he would not be able to leave those words for the living; also only Mui Jei's life in this world is a legend. Right? For the time being I think no one will sing a song dedicated to Mui Jei alone, because on one wants to bear the accusation "makimg money on dead person." Never mind la, as long as we know Mui Jei is the best, and she is in memory of her fans and her friends forever, that is good enough. About RealOne, I used to have but removed due to my computer problem. Will install it when I have all problem fixed. Tks! |

Thank you Angel for telling me the special tribute by Anthony to Anita. I'm still hoping there is a song specially written for Anita and recorded in one of the artist's album. Woodstock, Angel: [Thank] you for your consolations. Yesterday, I wasn't really taking in your words due to my left ear in and my right ear out (my usual childish behavior) but now after I calm down, I can swallow them all at one go. And I'm back to my usual cheerful |

Jason, I must also I hope also that there will be a song dedicated especially for Mui Jei coming out, same like you, if I can sing and write songs, I will do it ! But anyway, I think that HK fans have a song for Mui Jei, isn't it ? Maybe we need to ask Woodstock about it... |
