Due to copyright issue on each of Anita's guests, MuiMusic will release
two versions:
The first version is the special edition with Anita alone (no guests)
which will be released by mid April 2004.
The second version (Anita and guests) is yet to be scheduled for release.
Hope that fans will buy her 1st version first even if this is a one-man
show of Anita alone, right?

Read from Hk Yahoo news that Marianne (Anita's manager) revealed to the
press that Anita's Classic Concert vcd/dvd will be released officially on
7 April which is also her 100th day anniversary. This version will feature
only Anita wif no guest artistes as red tape issues have not been ironed
out yet.
Finally....turning into giraffe oredi waiting for this. Doesn't matter dun
have guest artistes ; main thing is wanna see Anita. I believe most fans
also think this way. If next time got new version can buy again!

If I could make a suggestion to MuiMusic; since we're all probably going
to be buying this concert twice, and you'll thereby be earning twice the
money, that the two versions be different like this:
If you must have the Karaoke feature (like Fantasy Gig), only do this with
the first version, the second version with the guests--no karaoke, no
annoying logos on the screen, and use the bandwidth gained to include
subtitle translations of all her talking to the audience between songs (in
Japanese, English, Korean, etc) Don't bother translating the song lyrics,
that's too hard, just her speeches. This is not just an ordinary concert,
after all, it's her last message to all her fans.
In addition, the cuts between the different cameras can be edited
differently, to create a completly different experience for the viewer.
Please pass these suggestions on, if you can, we'll see if they listen.
Who cares ... At least we know the concert is releasing soon!!! oh la la!

According to the news in Mingpao daily of 4/2, that has just been updated
at news section of this website, Marianne did mention that Classic Moment
VCD and DVD will be released on 4/7, and this version will include the
performance of Mui alone, it will not include parts of the guests.
I checked with the audio shop where I am a regular customer, the boss told
me he didn't receive any notice of the release of this VCD/DVD yet. But he
said if it was already mentioned in the newspaper, the release on that day
could be possible. Also today is public holiday in HK, so this might also
be the reason that he hasn't received the notice.
Anyway, I will let you know if I have further news.

Just read an article in an entertainment magazine about the problem of
this VCD/DVD........still the same old problem, the copyright of other
guest singers. Some okay, but some guests already made it clear that they
would not like to be included in this VCD/DVD. But that Ms M still waiting
for some other replies. Music Nation said the design of cover already
finished, as soon as the copyright problem solved, this VCD/DVD would be
ready for marketing.
I don't think the sales of this VCD/DVD would be increased in any
significant quantity after included other guests, because each of the
guest singers only sang 1 or 2 songs The majority buyers will still be Mui
fans. Also according to that magazine, Mui Music and Music Nation have to
share profit with singers of other company if they are included in this
VCD/DVD. Thus, according to my calculation, it might be back to square
1.........I meant profit to Mui Music and Music Nation might be the same
whether with guests or without guests.
And they never mention about the version with Mui only now.
If that Ms M still delays in releasing this VCD/DVD, as the audio shop
told me, the sales would only be worse, because many buyers, who are
impulsive buyers, would buy this VCD/DVD when the news on Mui was still
hot. Now they might have already forget about this concert.
Maybe she should just keep it till 12/30/2004 to release it as a memorial
DVD if she still doesn't do anything now!

yes i have downloaded it. it is a big file but it take s me less than 5
minutes to downlaod because i have cable modem. in the beginning it brings
you live coverage before the concert or concert preparation. then it shows
you a duet with jacky cheung and anita. then jacky cheung himself singing
ma chu sa wa. then anita performing the song what day- medley then heart
debt and a duet with hacken lee. it's really touching. then you see the
after concert coverage.

as what other fans had been confirmed by the audio shop assistants and now

I’m Jacky Cheung’s fan, but last night I went to Ah Mui concert to
support her. I always heard about Ah Mui’s stage charisma of her live
performance, and this was the first time Ah Mui came to Shanghai, and also
I have to show gratitude to a Mui fan who has given me pictures of Jacky
Cheung at Hoi Kou Concert, so last night I went to “add oil “ for Ah
Mui. Honestly, I only know about 10 songs among all the songs Ah Mui
performed last night. But I was impressed by the stage charisma of her
life performance, I didn’t feel bored at all
1. Admiration As I seldom go to see concerts (so far I only have gone to
Jacky’s and Ah Mui’s), so I can’t help comparing the concerts of
Jacky and Ah Mui. Jacky had his concert in April at Sports Stadium that
can hold 80,000 audience. Last night when I got into the Shanghai Grand
Stage, my first impression was that this place was better. The acoustic is
better, even sitting at very back, everything can be heard clearly. When
concert started, this proved to be true. Also the stage was very close to
where the audience sat, Ah Mui could have close contact with fans. At
Jacky’s concert, fans could not even present flowers to him, stage was
too far away, and it was also surrounded by rails. No chance to step
forward. So I admired Ah Mui’s fans, they are very lucky.
2. Touched Actually when the first fan, who went to present flowers to Ah
Mui, was carried away by security, I was already very mad. Then the second
fan, never thought Ah Mui, even when she was singing, tried to stop the
security. As she could not stop singing, she only said something to the
security in between. But I felt Ah Mui looked very sad when she sang the
next part. When she finished singing, she immediately spoke up for the
fans. I felt she handled the thing so well, she managed to protect the
fans at the same time she didn’t upset the security. (because she
mentioned that the security in order to protect her). I was really too
touched by what Ah Mui said. Then her interaction with fans was very
touching too. For example she went to 2 sides to have very close contact
with fans. She gave special comments about the gift fans presented to her.
(Most singers will only accept, won’t mention anything about those
gifts). For the safety of fans, she would ask them to be careful. Though
I’m not Ah Mui fans, but I really felt Ah Mui treated her fans as
friends. I was so moved by Ah Mui, I never had such feeling before. Ah Mui
was really too great. When performing Sunset Song, Ah Mui looked very
emotional. I felt I wanted to cry too!
3. Startling I have heard about her stage performance, but to experience
it by myself is really another matter. Last night she made me realize what
is really the charm of a stage queen. I won’t talk about the rest, as I
believe Ah Mui fans can describe it better. I will only mention about her
singing of “Moon represents my heart”. Ah Mui didn’t want music, but
led the audience to sing together. As I was sitting at the back, so I
could hear the singing of audience clearly. Without the band, audience
sang in chorus, this was the first time I experienced such startling
effect. (At Jacky’s concert, he always sang with audience. But all 7
concerts I went during his concert tour were held in sports stadium, also
Jacky and the audience always sang with accompany music. I was not sitting
in the front, even though I could see the fans next to me were singing
loudly, I could not hear the singing of the one very next to me, maybe my
own voice was too loud.)
4. Surprised When the concert finished, as I didn’t want to be in the
crowd, I left the concert hall late. What a coincident, Ah Mui just came
out from the back stage and got onto her car to the celebration dinner. I
saw Ah Mui closely, really very beautiful!
The above is what I felt about Ah Mui after I went to Ah Mui’s concert.
I’m not too good in writing, sorry about that. In short, last night’s
concert was really too good. Ah Mui deserves the title: Queen of the Stage

Sometimes is it difficult to say the feelings in words, don't know it's
good or not.
Just to share something again with you, my friend told me, she met Mui Jei
at the airport in Japan when she transferred her airplane to HK last
summer. She was so happy to see Mui Jei. Mui Jei was very nice,but because
of that, she felt more sad hearing the news.

First of all, thanks to everybody here, I really feel very touched, you
all make me very warm inside...
I was a bit sad and I was reading everything again in this website and I
was feeling very sad by reading the reviews from Snoopy, Woodstock, when
they went to see Mui Jei. There was something that really made me cry
inside, Snoopy was preparing the camera to get ready for the concert and
Woodstock said she only gets a glimp of Mui Jei...actually I really need
to thank again for sharing these memories...
I believe in fate, there are things that we can not control, treasure
everyone around you and every moment, words from Mui Jei, that I never
forget and I always try to do for many years after losing a friend. I

Anita lives !
Who says Anita has died??
Only her body is dead but her spirit is alive and free in the air. Think
about it-
Each time you remember her generousity, charitable acts, big heartedness,
kindness to the needy, great attitude, efforts to improve herself,
dedication to her work, helpfulness, her fighting spirit, Courage, she is
ALIVE in your mind.
That means if we dare to practise embracing life, keep perservering, be
generous, be helpful, be forgiving and be brave like her,you may suddenly
realise she has become part of you, Alive in spirit!
Ask yourselves why she must always be so positive, encouraging, frank
etc....because she wants to set a good example for people - that's Big
Sister! Doesn't she have pains and troubles like all of us? Yes, but her
strong face to the public is to share courage, confidence, aimed to

help make the world a better place with love and kindness. She can't
change the world alone. She needs our help.

Actually a Mui's fan, Skippy, wrote to the related department of HK
government about this issue not long after Mui' demise, and the reply was
that the request was under review. So Skippy might brief us if there is
any other further news from this department.
According to stamp collectors of HK, the postal department usually issues
such memorial stamps in a set of 4 characters. A set of 4 deseased
Cantonese Opera Singers was issued before. So there is a great chance of a
set of memerorial stamps of the 4 most talented singers of HK, Danny Chan,
Roman Tam, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui, be issued in the near future. But
the chance for Ah Mui alone might not be great. However, things might turn
out better than I expect, who knows.

Kudos to Snoopy and Woodstock
Just met Snoopy when she came to Singapore for a Vacation. I would like
very much to thank her and Woodstock for maintaining this website and
http://mui-mui.org
Especially during the time of Mui's demise when bandwidth cost so much for
them.
After a converstation I realise their vision and purpose of bearing the
burden of maintaining these spaces on the internet. Their work are very
honorable and I sincerely thiank the both of them from the bottom of my
heart for what they did for Mui's fans.
As what Snoopy told me (which struck me very deeply)..."by
maintaining this website.... this is something I can do for Anita."
I post this in a hope that their effort don't go un-noticed and
unappreciated.
Not everyone do things with the aim to benefit themselves. Both of them
thought of us......... the fans of Mui.
Once again, this is all I can do at present to acknowledge and thank them
for their effort.
We realized the heavy blow and grief that demise of Mui brought us. We
just want to provide a place for fans to release their sorrow or thoughts,
and a place to share their feeling over Mui, hoping everyone to pull
through this most difficult period of our life.
Through this forum, we find that Mui has many very good and sensible fans
all over the world. Only with the effort of you all, we are able to
maintain this forum a peaceful place for exchange and discussion of

I never doubt Mui Ma love Anita, but she has a lot of self-serving
theories. She believes all people around anita is cheating Anita except
herself. Did you hear her comments about Modern Beauty Boss Joyce? How
silly Mui Ma is, my gosh. She even trust that woman??? Because Mui Ma is
illiterate and at the same time very stubbern, it is so hard for her to
understand many things, and she is very easily to be used.

i do think otherwise. mui ma is quite smart. i'm suprised to discover she
could remember so many things despite her age and she did sound like
someone below 60years old. of coz, i've no doubt of her love for Anita but
i felt uneasy of her long story on her not using Anita and Ann for the
survival of the whole family and she's trying to imply that what Anita did
since at the age of 4 wasn't much as she did and suffered for her two
daughters. now, i have 2nd thought on her so agile mind and good memory.
but as Woodstock advised, let's get rid of her family affair.
i'm much touched on the first part of her description on the last few days
of Anita's life. mui ma also praised Anita as filial daughter. as u
listened thru, u would be touched by the selflessness and thoughtfulness
of Anita towards all those peoples working for her. i can deduce why Anita
insisted to go Kyoto bcoz of her promise and also bcoz she didn't want to
disappoint those peoples working for her for fearing them to lose jobs if
she cancelled the excursion. they need her to survive.

Dear Woodstock, thank you for sharing this radio interview, I couldn't
listen it very well because of the internet connection but anyway, I have
stop listening after Mui Ma talked about Mui Jei's last days. Actually I
repeated 2 times to listen the part that Mui Ma said she asked Mui Jei,
did she want to see her brother.
In a way, I don't want to listen anymore after I heard how Mui Ma talked
about this, I'm not angry but I feel sad for Mui Jei, but as Woodstock
said, we need to think everything more possitive and actually I don't know
the true, so I can not give comment.
Nothing can disturb me, Mui Jei will always have a place in my heart, I
respect Mui Jei very much, Mui Jei made me believe nothing is impossible
if you believe.

I understand how you feel. The first part is the most difficult part for
her fans of the whole interview, as it is about the last few days of Mui
Jei in this life. When you get over this, and if you feel better, try to
listen to the rest, as you can get glimpse of Mui Jei, also from the mouth
of her mother. Anyway, I'm not persuding you to listen, just decide if you
can stand it or not emotionally. Okay?! Cheers!

Thanks for your comments. My apologies for asking such a sensitive
questions as I realized others may feel a bias in our opinions on the
matter.
Nevertheless, I agree with you that we must keep everything we heard and
see positive. Anita will always have a special place in my heart and no
one can change that.

About Mui Ma’s interview, I will only talk about my opinion related to
the parts about Mui, and to see how much truth in that.
Actually many things she talked about relating to early days, I already
heard about either from Mui herself or I read some where else, so I
don’t think Ma was lying on many things.
Her last few days in hospital: in Buddhist Compassion, it was mentioned on
the day she passed away, for a few times, seemingly Mui was going to
leave, but she didn’t. She was actually waiting for the best time to
leave, that was the day when Buddha got enlightened. That was why Mui’s
feet got warm, and then got cold, and then got warm again as described by
Mui Ma.
Mui Ma mentioned something left the head when Mui’s heart stopped,
according to Buddhism, at death, our consciousness, which is mounted on a
“wind” and so needs an aperture through which to leave the body, can
leave through any one of nine openings. When it leaves through the crown
of the head, it is said we are reborn in a pure land, where we can
gradually proceed towards enlightenment. That is why Rinpoche said Mui was
traveling towards land of Nirvana.
Mui Ma asked permission from Mui for his brother’s return, I think
actually she wanted Mui to forgive his brother. About Mui opened her eyes
and Mui Ma assumed that she agreed to his return, I’m not too sure about
this. It is possible Mui agreed to his return because she wanted him to
take care of the old mother. But it might also be possible she had
something to say. From things happened within these few days, I believe it
was not Mui banned him from coming back to HK, he himself actually
didn’t know how to face his creditors if he came back. So iMui might be
shocked to hear Mui Ma wanted him to return HK, that is why she opened her
eyes and looked at her for a while.
About their early days, we all know that they were very poor, Mui never
tried to hide anything about her early life from us. As I mentioned in
other thread, it was not easy for a single mother to bring up 4 children,
there was no such good social welfare as today, and we should be grateful
to Mui Ma that she didn’t have abortion, or we will never have Mui.
I don’t think Mui Ma was defending herself by telling us Mui could not
support the family at 4, because if you have a chance to see an old TV
interview of Mui, she herself mentioned that in those early days, she was
not paid, but had to follow her teacher singing and performing at
different places, such as parks, New Territories, Po Leung Kok’s car and
etc. This type of practical training was considered as her pay.
Of course if they were not that poor, I don’t believe Mui Ma would have
such a heart to let her 2 daughters sing full time at such an early age.
Mui’s talent could be evolved as many talented kids of today, having
proper schooling and proper life of a kid at the same time BTW, in an
interview of her early days, Mui actually mentioned she didn’t feel
anything unhappy about her singing life before 10, but after that she felt
her life was very hard, because she had to sing at night till 2:00a.m. or
3:00a.m then had to go to school next day.
But one thing I agree to Mui Ma, she had brought up them in a proper way,
she had set an example to them they had to earn every cent by their skill
or hard work. That is why Mui could maintain her status in the
entertainment circle for so many years, and walked with pride and win
respect throughout her life. Despite the complicated environment she sang,
she remained a good, upright and well behaved girl all the way.
Her generosity to friends or being taken advantage of by people around
her, this is well known in the circle. Mui actually knew about it, but she
had her own way of looking at things. About treating people for free
meals, Mui would say humbly not shark’s fins or abalone lar, only plain
food. About people using her, she would say, to give is better than to
take, also only when she was good in certain areas so people would make us
of her, otherwise people would not lar. As Mui Ma said since young she was
already very generous. In an article about her early days, it was said
when she got any extra tips from audience, she would immediately treat all
the staff . See how cute she was, only a little child treating all adult
staff.
About her boy friends, I think Mui Ma was just superstitious, no such
thing as curse. As Mui often said in later days, she got her own problem
too, and she had no confidence in marriage herself. I believe in what Mui
said. After being single so long, it is really a vital decision weather to
get married. Also Mui wantd a perfect marriage, that is difficult to
guarantee nowadays. Even in the final concert, Mui actually mentioned she
would not marry any man, but only a man she really loved.
I believe that Mui Ma regretted that Mui entered entertainment circle.
Many people would not know how much bitterness Mui has gone through in
achieving what she got. It is a very materialistic environment. Even Mui
advised young people to think twice before they want to make entertainment
as their career. She said entertainment circle is a big dyeing pot, once
you get in, difficult to get out.
I don’t like to comment on the will and other valuable things. But about
the trophies and many personal belongings, such as clothes, gifts from
fans, I think all should be returned to Mui Ma. There are lots of
sentimental values about them. Gee, I really wish I can get back the gifts
I gave to Mui too
Now I’m going to say something, those of you who hate Mui Ma will scold
me I bet. But if you can analyze rationally, you will find there is
certain truth in what I am going to say.
Mui actually inherits lots of characters from Mui Ma. Both are stubborn,
both are tough, both actually love each other deeply, and both worry the
other will be cheated by others, both would succumb to sweet talks though
stubborn most of the time, both do not run a company properly. Mui
declared she had nothing to do with Mui Ma’s cancer foundation, because
she thought people were cheating on Mui Ma, her accounts were not clear.
But people in her own company actually cheated Mui herself too. Really
wonder why the one advised Mui to make such a declaration in all
newspapers, that caused the breakup of Mui Ma and Mui at that time,
didn’t advise Mui to set up a proper system to prevent fraud in Mui
Music before it was started.
See that is why I told you earlier not to get involve in Mui Ma’s case,
there are many stories behind why she doesn’t like Mui’s friends or
vice versa and etc. We really don’t know the whole story.
Aiya, have to stop here now. Otherwise I would be attacked. BTW, if have
objection to what I said, just speak out in a peaceful way, don’t yell
at me or use harsh words, I can’t stand it and might cry….
Also please don’t believe HK media too much. It was circulated Mui’s
house will be on auction at beginning of May. It is not true at all
