what the ****?

People I knew said that Mui Mother did all these for her son.

what the ****. If your son is sixteen and can't fend for his future it is ok, but the truth is... Your son is forty over years old. he should take care of you. Now you have to do all these nonsense so that your son have a share of Mui's money..... what baloney. Your son got no shame hah?

what do you guys gain in the end?

Even if Mui's inheritence come to you, it will be squandered before we can count to ten.

why don't the both of you just shut the **** up so every one can have peaceof mind. If the money comes to you would you still pay money to find mui's "MURDERER"? Most likely you take the first flight to vegas.

I had enough of all these cheebye antics! you want money, you go work for it like Mui.

just my two cents woth. (sorry to the forum readers for the colorful language, I would post a pic of my middle finger to them if I knew how!! )

Mui Jei, nous t'aimerons toujours !

La vie 鴡it belle
d'etre fan de toi pour toujours.
Je chantait tout tes chansons
tout les nuits de concert.
Jamais je pourrait savoir,
comment la vie changerait
le jour que t'鴡it plus l?..

La vie continue,
les gens me passent
mais j'entends rien
juste tes chansons qui sont dans mon coeur.
Un jour je ne sais meme pas pourquoi
je me trouve ?cot?de coleseum,
c'est la place qui t'appartient.

Mes larmes tombent

tu sera toujours notre superstar !

Mui Jei, nous t'aimerons toujours !

Life was so wonderful
being fan from you forever.
Singing all your songs with you
the whole concert night long.
How was I to know that
the way I was living
would never be the same
since the day you are gone...

People walk pass me
cars pass by loudly
nothing seems I can notice
only your songs are in my heart.
Step by step
don't know why
I stand again
next the coleseum
the place where you belong.

My tears will fall down
when the sky turns dark.
Everytime I wonder
is the sky becoming your stage
where you are the superstar ?

Please remember Mui Jei,
we as fans are still here,
supporting you forever!
No matter how long the distance is
between you and us exist.
Your music and love will keep us together
no matter where you are.
You are always our superstar !

Mui Jei, love you forever !

P.S. : Dear Dana, I tried my best, I was very busy with my work these few days, working 14 hours a day, therefore I couldn't make this earlier, very sorry about it ! I haven't use French anymore since I left school, I asked my friend to help me, I hope I didn't disappoint you. Of course I don't mind to write this for Mui Jei, I must thank you for this request, because you gave me the chance for talking to Mui Jei. The French one is a little bit different than the English one, because some words can say in English but not in French and some accents I couldn't type, sorry. I hope I didn't make too much mistakes with my French.

Re: Mui Jei, nous t'aimerons toujours !

Hello! Angel, you really caught me off guard. Thought I had frightened you away with my directness. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this beautiful poem in French and in English to Anita. It sounds more beautiful in French.
Your dedicated love, affections to Anita and longings for her, deeply touched my heart. The manner in which you include all her fans in the last section is worth applauding.
I thought my tears were well controlled but reading through your poem, my eyes started to fill with tears again.
Angel, your poems as well as Woodstock's, Ling's, ILA's and rowena's contribution will be included in my priceless collection of Anita.
Merci tellement! Angel, for taking your time off from your tight working schedule to do this for Anita.

Re: Mui Jei, nous t'aimerons toujours !

Thank you Woodstock, Fan from Canada, actually I never thought to write a second poem for Mui Jei because sometimes it's not easy to write the feelings in words but after Dana asked me, I tried again, thank you that you like it, actually there are still a lot things to say to Mui Jei.

Dear Dana, I really thank you very much, because of you, I could write my feelings again to Mui Jei, as you know in a year are 8760 hours and this year 24 hours more, so I just spend few hours for writing something to Mui Jei, that's just nothing. I really hope we can support Mui Jei here more and more, in my heart, there is always a very big place for Mui Jei ! Mui Jei, we love you forever !

Dear June, I always want to say thank you to you, you are really very nice person, your words made me really to vote more and more , yes, I really keep your words in mind, thank you for being here !

What is the meaning of "Aurevoirmon Armour"?

I do not understand the language and meaning of the message Dana had left for Anita. I know it is not a good manner to ask her by adding my question into the same subject meant for Anita, that's why I open a new subject here.

Any fans here be kind enough to assist me to convert the message "I Love You" into many different languages you know?

Re: What is the meaning of "Aurevoirmon Armour"?

Jason:

It's French, actually it should be "Au Revoir Mon Amour", it meant "Good-bye My Love!"

Also this is the title of one of Anita Mui's moives, "What day the man will return", Do you know which movie I meant? The one with Leung Kai Fai as the leading male role.

Re: What is the meaning of "Aurevoirmon Armour"?

Dear Woodstock,

for your reply. Sooooooooooo, it is typo error. Um...Dana have to brush up her French..... Anyway, Anita will understand because the message was given by Dana, one of her sincere and kind-hearted fan.

I don't look into English title for Anita's movies and most often, very forgetful. Don't know what is what and which is which. Is that the movie about Shanghai? Anita had partnered with Leung Kar Fai in many movies, so I guess that should be the one loh. But sorry laaa, I've not watched that movie yet but going to.

Woodstock, can furnish me with some languages for the same meaning of "I love you", please? I got an idea already how to express my love for Anita, simply the three words "I Love You". Never ever write poem or poetry. If you ask me to write now, it is at kindergarten standard .

Yep, must be typing error of Dana too.

You are right, that is the movie started with Anita singing at the night club. One of my favorite movies, like those songs.

Sorry I don't know. I used to know "I love you" in a few languages, now forgot about them all. Will let you know when I can recall any or will enquire for you if no other fans tell you, okay? At least I will ask Snoopy to tell you in Malay.......

Dear Jason, sorry to make you misunderstand, I'm Chinese, but my "Chinese" is not good. When I was a child, my parents would buy Cantonese songs, therefore I started to know about Mui Jei. As child, you will come in touch with Mui Jei because her title song for the cartoon "Prof.IQ" is so cute ! Not every singer you can buy in Chinatown, but Mui Jei's albums were the most complete ! Mui Jei's songs filled a lot of my "boring" routes. I can not explain why I was as child to choose Mui Jei, sometimes "love" can not explain, Her voice is like magic that actrack you to listen and to love.

Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991

Hi All,

To whom who are looking for Mui Jei's 1991's concert VCD or DVD, there are plenty of them sold in Kuala Lumpur's CD stores.

I was so ecstatic when I saw them especially I don't expect to find them in KL.

Re: Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991

Anita's farewell concert 1991 has never been release, so I'm doubtful about this news. But will check this out anyway and let you all know about this VCD/DVD. For your information, in 1992, CA released a set of collection named Legend of Pop Queen. This had 3 part, 1 & 2 are the CD/ audio type. While Part 3 is known as Farewell MTV collection. Along the years, the name or title of this issue evolve until now it's called 1991 Farewell Concert. This Part 3 is MTV collected from various personal recording of Mui's entourage during her concert away from Hong Kong. To a fan like me, it's very nice to see Mui behind stage and her personal side of playfulness with her groups of dancer. This MTV was bind together from various recording from her concert tour while in N. America, Europe and Australia.

I bought this particular VCD called Farewell Concert 1991 back in January, a bit disspointed of the quality as I expect better one from original conversion. Too bad, it was converted from VHS format, so you can expect the same quality of visual from the original released video cassette type. You can view the cover at http://www.mui-mui.org/mediumkl.htm (as the cover tell different story, photo of concert was from 1994 yet contents and title state 1991 )

Xixo, pls verify from the link above if you bought the similar VCD, thanks.

Re: Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991

hmm... very sad.. we couldn't get the CD...sigh..it's a pity that in the past when Mui Jei and the other canto-pop kings were putting up their best shows.. the technology was bad then thus we couldn't have captured their best moment (clearly I mean as those CDs now mass produced are converted from VHS thus their quality are sometime affected)

but now...when technology was good and able to capture their best moments...they left us .... SAD. Sigh....we've only managed to capture their last few years...really a pity..

Re: Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991, old & new technology

Jo Ee, there is hope, all the 24 or 48 track masters of the recording sessions still exist somewhere, and the individual tracks can in some cases be cleaned up, and even if this is impossible, the mixdown can be re-done on modern equipment, to produce a much better sounding CD. A company called Mobile Fidelity has been doing this for years with the classic rock albums by Beach Boys, Beatles, etc. that were out of print, and re-pressing vinyl records. Now SACD (Super Audio CD) with twice the resolution of a normal CD is becoming popular, and some classic albums of the mid-80's (like the Police) are being re-mastered in this way. For a live concert, the situation is similar, there is an individual track for each microphone, and a separate recording for each of 4 or more cameras. You could even, in the future, re-edit a concert onto film and show it in the theater. Have you seen Madonna's film 'Truth or Dare'. the whole film is black & white, mostly interviews and candid backstage shots, then the film ends with change to color and Madonna performs 'Holiday' live; sounds great, very exciting with the multi-channel theater audio.

With Anita Mui, this matters a lot, because all of her early CDs are out of print, and because the sound coming out of the Capital Artists studio wasn't all that great. I apologise for sounding like a nosy foreigner, but if you have the "Burning Fire Red Lips" CD listen to "Rouge" (recorded separately for the film, not at CA) it sounds lush and wonderful, compared with the rest of the tracks (at CA), which sound like Mui is singing in a closet, with a layer of reverb, like driving with a dirty windshield. Later with "I'm So Happy" it's obvious there is new equipment, Anita's voice has never sounded better. Track #2, where she harmonizes with herself is exquisite, but then, why did they mix the drums so loud with it? What were they thinking?

I guess the best we can do is to keep demanding the highest quality from the companies, and show we are willing to pay for it, maybe greed, if not artistic appreciation will motivate them.

Xixo hello!!! Actually I don't have any of her old concerts , I only have her 1995, the Fantasy Gig and hopefully the soon-to-be release Classic Moment....that's why I'm hoping against hopes that one day CA will really come up and release all her concerts....
Why would they have second thoughts in releasing her concerts, cause when you say market, there is a market for it, the mere fact that the VCD/DVD shop owners have jacked up the prices of her CD's.....and if they have done it earlier like 1 month after she died, it could have been selling like hotcakes....right? And if CA is really charging a big amount for the copyrights of her songs, how come BMG was able to come up with her 1995 concert (although it was made in China), of which copies can still be found in small retail shops in HK....

As I know, quality of a burned VCD/DVD will remain the same towards the years.

Re: Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991

HI everyone (esp. FB)

thanks for the info
Cos I was worried I've got pretty much old tapes, Video Tapes etc. they aren't that "obedient" now when I re-play all those tapes they either go out of tune (those loony tunes voice) or the video tape simply can't stop "dancing" (the screen was jumping up and down couldn't even catch a proper screen of the concerts/shows)

I was actually thinking of buying those DVD recorder where I play the video tape in one side and record it into the DVD on the other (I think Pioneer has this DVD-VCR player) hmm... anyone tried this method? hopefully it works (I am still saving $$ hoping more advance tech comes out and I can buy that and convert all the precious tapes into storable DVDs)

Thanks!
Jo

Hi FB & xixo88

thanks for the info

you're a great help but unfortunately I don't live in HK, I think I'll bring along all the tapes (haha if possible to make it through the checkpoints safely) to do the conversion in my next trip here ...

Thanks!

Re: Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991, old videotapes

You would need to play these stretched or damaged tapes on a machine that has Digital Time-base Correction circuitry, like a professional-quality machine found in a broadcast studio, although some newer more expensive home machines have a cheaper version of this. You will probably not get it in the combination machine you mentioned. Your best bet is to take your tapes to a local video-duplication or production house and pay them to transfer the tapes to DVD. Just yesterday I saw an article in the paper about the life-span of CDs and DVDs. Here's the link:

Re: Anita Mui Live in Concert 1991

Jo Ee,

There should be plenty of companies doing transfer from VHS to DVD nowadays. I assume you live in HongKong, there should be plenty but I can't be of any help since I don't live in HongKong. But without further process the result will be about the same on the DVD but at least it won't further deteriorated.

Like I mentioned earlier, there is a technology that can repair "bad tapes" but with certain limitation; the source has to be as tapes (not vcd/dvd) and has to be master copy that hasn't been processed before. My company is on the process of preparation to sell this service. I will inform all of you when it's ready. For Mui Jei's tapes, I'll do it for free.

Personal view on Dana's query on whether Mui Ma remarried or not

Have read Dana's question on whether Mui Ma was lying she was remarried....

The old generation married couple considers themselves "married" after going through a traditional Chinese wedding custom. To them, register or not register not an issue. I myself until now do not know whether my parents were officially registered. My aunt died young and my uncle brought a woman home who bore him a child. They until now did not go through Chinese wedding, neither did they register as lawful husband and wife.

When a couple staying together with children of one or both parties, their children definitely would take the other party as step-father or step-mother, regardless their official marital status. Even if Mui Ma denied she had ever remarried, but I do 100% trust Anita's statement that she had a step-father because this man did stay together with them. This stepfather who had eyes on the two poor teenager girls had never failed to scold, to torture them.

Consider the complicated environment growing up in a 'NightClub', there are all sorts of man and most of them are of a drunkard, sex maniac and violent type. So, I really do not want to visualize and feel how bitter and fearful of those days Anita and Ann had gone through.

I'm not attacking Mui Ma but I just do not wish Anita to be misunderstood for giving wrong fact as being overturned by her defensive mother when Anita can no longer speak for herself. Because of this, outsiders are left speechless and pondering who's right and who's wrong. It is pretty pretty unfair to Anita.

My apologize if my statement has made you uncomfortable. You may ignore then.

Re: Personal view on Dana's query on whether Mui Ma remarried or not

Of course I believe what Mui Jei said about having a stepfather. I find Mui Jei was very strong as child and teenager, because a lot of these cases, they already gave up their lives, like becoming bad or run away from their homes. I really understand what Mui Jei said about the loneliness that she had before, the effect of not having a "true" home. I think Mui Jei's heart was really feeling broken because she loved her mother very much, when you love someone and that person, and it's your own mother, responsed was like that, it's very painfull.

Re: Personal view on Dana's query on whether Mui Ma remarried or not

Just when I thought that I could still have some respect for the Ma, ML, I detest her after reading your personal view. Mother's love is the greatest comfort every child should have.
I dont want to go any further. Its too painful for me to handle because even how hateful the Ma is, Anita would want us to respect her Ma. It is a most heart-rending situation.

Re: Personal view on Dana's query on whether Mui Ma remarried or not

I just want to try to think more on the side of Anita. By law, Mui Ma was not wrong to say she had never remarried. By common sense and by nature, Anita was not wrong to say she had stepfather because a man who was the lover of her mother and to whom Anita and her siblings knew and this man may have stayed together with them as family, automatically became their step-father.

Actually, my personal view not aimed at promoting hate against Mui Ma. No, not at all. I've no doubt for her love for Anita and I do not hate Mui Ma. Just that I do think she is too self-centred and too self-defensive. After all, she is Anita's mother. She has rights to say what she thinks she has rights to say about and on Anita. That's why I've convinced myself Mui Ma loves herself more than she loves Anita. Certain things Mui Ma should try her best not to say in public as free speeches if not properly scrutinized and handled, may bring calamities as those one-side confessions may pose risky challenges to Anita's reputation and integrity. The one person who can speak up for and protect Anita is none other than her own mother. And also the one person who can destory Anita's reputation (may not be deliberately but once words come out, it's hard to recover 100%) is also none other than her own mother.

Let me say trillion 'Sorry' here to fans who are offended by my personal view.

To Woodstock

Hi Woodstock,

I've been very busy and not visited Anita's forum in a long time. I browsed here last week and saw a thread about what Mui ma said in a rthk interview. I've not had time to listen to the radio interview yet at that time. Now I want to listen to it but the thread has disappeared from this forum. Can you help me, Woodstock? I need to know the url to the website to listen to this interview. Thanks in advance.

Great nostalgic pictures of Anita, its nice to see her "smiling" in many of them. Keep them coming. Thanks again for keeping your website fresh, and for your insight into Anita. I can't believe it has been a year already (this weekend) that she was getting everyone ready for the SARs benefit concert.

Re: mui's 3d figure

Kathy:

First of all I would like to inform you all, Anita Mui International Fan Club doesn't have a website. All existing websites about Anita Mui are private ones designed and copyrighted by Mui fans only, so is Eddie Lau's website. Very funny, lots of fans think his website is the official website of Mui Fans Club. Really don't know the reason behind.

You are right, he is selling the 3D figure of Anita Mui, that is his own too, not from Mui Fans club. I just went to check at his website for you, he has left a message there on 5/17, he said registration for ourchase already closed. He will not accept any application anymore, as 13 fans are already on waiting list.

Re: mui's 3d figure

Aiya....more confusing now.......actually that website Kathy is mentioning is not owned or designed by eddie lau, it belongs to a fan, Eddie Lee, I think that is his surname.

The designer, Eddie Lau, has his own website. He has nothing to do with Anita Mui International Fans club, or anything related to fans. He only designed clothes for Mui.
