For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

Hi All

We are a small group of muijie fans from Singapore and we are thinking of organising an "excursion" among all Singapore fans on Muijie's birthday 10/10.

We are still at the planning stage and response is one factor that we are looking at.

Any fans from Singapore and Malaysia interested? 10/10 is a Sunday and we are planning a trip to the temple in one whole group to visit mui and a vegetarian dinner after that. If everyone is in for a karaoke session, we can proceed on to a karaoke after that.

Please drop us an email at anitamuifans_sg@yahoo.com.sg to let us know if you would like to participate.

I'm sure Muijie would be happy to see us visit her in a group on her birthday.(^_^)

Cheers
Singapore Fans

Attention: Hi fan Lezard Cheung, if you are reading this, would appreciate if you could give us an email. We would like to contact you. (^_^) Hope to hear from you soon!

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

Hmm...response is pretty bad.

Where are you, Singapore fans? If response is bad, then we may have to abort this outing, which is quite sad.

Thought we can visit muijie together to wish her happy birthday...

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

Hi fans from Singapore,

Don't be discouraged by the response and abort your good intentions. Sincerity from the heart should not be measured against number of responses but by the depth and truthfulness it carries from those that respond.

Even if you are alone on 10/10/04 to celebrate Mui's birthday you should Do What Your Heart Leads You To, afterall, you are not hurting anyone. DON"T STOP so easily! That's not what Ah Mui's Fans should be. Looking at Ah Mui's personality, she would be just as happy that someone remembered her and did something.

Maybe all of us are curious which temple we will visit and is Ah Mui's 'Ling Wai' in Singapore or improve the itinerary or the purpose of event.

Be Patient it is still quite far away from Oct and most of us are working so it may mean (at least for me) that if I am not out stationed, I would be there.

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

Hi ILA

Thanks for your encouragement, ILA!

We are actually planning something more meaningful, but as we are still waiting for some confirmation, we are unable to confirm it here.

I was telling a fan that time really flies. I was there at mui's birthday celebration last year in HK and it's nearly a year now. *sob*

The only birthday gift we can give to muijie now is perhaps to continue doing good deeds and charity, which is what we are thinking of doing on 10/10.

Fans, do email us (anitamuifans_sg@yahoo.com.sg) or drop a note here if you are interested ok! But no matter what, be it 5 people or 50 people, this "outing" will be ON!!!
We will still be visiting muijie to wish her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

ILA, hope you will be joining us too!

LOVE U MUIJIE!!

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

Updates:

We are pleased to invite Lezard, the Muijie's impersonator in Singapore to perform for us during the vegetarian bufffet dinner! He is also a fan of muijie too. Lezard will be performing as a contribution to the Anita Mui True Heart Charity Foundation. Thanks so much to him!

We will also be donating money(minus the cost of dinner) collected to Anita Mui True Heart Charity Foundation.
We think this is the best birthday gift we can give to our muijie.

Those fans from Singapore or malaysia who wish to join us, email me at anitamuifans_sg@yahoo.com.sg

We will update on the venue, time and cost of the dinner when we have finalise all details. OF course, the date is on 10/10/2004, muijie's birthday.

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

We all know that Lezard is a very good & talented performer and we are also glad to know that he will be performing to help raise funds for the 'Anita Mui True Heart Charity Foundation'.

However, we hope that Lezard will not be impersonating Anita during his performance on 10/10. We feel that we should be remembering Anita by watching her Concerts, MVs, Movies etc instead of watching someone else impersonating her.

This is just our opinion, we do not mean to offend anyone.

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

I would like to share my views on this. For me,i dont see anything wrong with Lezard, who is also a fan to perform anita's songs. He is known to have a show which pays tribute to Anita.

If he's not a fan, i think i would probably have the same reaction as A+A, but I believe Lezard loves anita too and will not tarnish Anita's image or performance.

I understand that this is just only a segment of the small event? i believe that we should just share the moment together, just like when Anita is still with us last year, a malaysian fan performed during her birthday party.

let's all take it easy, like watching a friend perform or sing karaoke of anita's songs. I always treat a anita's fan as a friend. At least he using his own effort to perform for charity??

I support the idea.

Re: For Singapore and Malaysia Fans (10/10/2004)

Hi A+A

Oh...no worries A+A, it's good to let us know how u feel, this event is for muijie ultimately, not for us. :)

Understand why you will feel this way. I've thought of that too but i'm very afraid that all of us will end up sobbing away together if we were to do that for the whole session.(i think i'll be one of them too )

So were thinking that Lezard (he's a muijie fan too, he appears in this forum too) could lighten the mood up with some performance! It's not a Lezard Show, no worries. :)

Besides that, we have some self taken footage of muijie while we were chasing after her when she's in Singapore, when she's praying before the fantasy gig concert in singapore and when she went for supper in one tiong bahru restaurant and while seeing her off at the Singapore airport and some footage of her praying before the classic moment concert in Hong Kong and all the byebye saying to fans after the concert outside the coliseum. Was thinking of showing that also. And some others...shhshh...

Cos i believe that all fans would have watched all her concerts dvds umpteem times already and it would be nice to watch some fan's self taken video which is exclusive.

Would love to have some fans who have self taken videos to share with us on this very day too!

Can fans with personal video footage of mui come forward and share with us those precious moments?
Yah..i think this will be meaningful?

A+A, are you from singapore too? come join us? it's informal one..just a get together to huai nian our muimui...

Well, I can only say that its tough to organize events. I really appreciate the intention and efforts. Whether Lezard performs or not or whatever the program may be, I will still remember and miss Anita. Wouldn't it be same for you all?

To me, gathering together is a dedicated time to share memories of Anita. In the process, this time gives silent support amongst each other even build new friendships. Even if we have to sob or cry aloud or laugh, it'll be natural and that'sAnita's style I think.

I know TVB has recently release a set of 15VCDs named "Anita Mui A Life So Special" in Singapore.
Could any fans in Singapore help me to check whether these VCDs can be legally posted to Hong Kong if I bought them through eBay. I have sent the question to the seller but nil reply yet. I really hope I could have a set of these VCDs, so that I can share every performance that Anita did.

Thanks alot.

Hi Mabelle

VCDs can be send to countries outside Singapore cos
the control is the receiving country not sending country ie Singapore

So in other words, u can get someone to buy for you or order from Singapore and send the VCDs over to you.

Hi Sharon

Need a favour from you, when you watch the last Disc, ie disc 15, kindly let me know if the show is a complete show, meaning, does it showed the ending with Anita standing with all her guest and waving goodbye or just stop with DoDo Cheng saying the ending dialogue. My disc just stop with DoDo cheng saying thank you to Anita, same with the disc that i loan from the video shop. thought it strange that it ended so abruptly. But when i saw the show in the plane i realised that it was more, Anita actually stand with all her guests and wave goodbye to the audiences for about 1 minute before the whole show ended. Please let me know, Thank You

Re: James Wong passed away

ana, your Chinese is getting better and better

Last night TVB had a program in Memory of James Wong , we were able to hear lots of his master pieces performed by the original singers of those songs, most of them were the TV drama theme songs. All those singers are good and experienced singers from 70s or even 60s.

The song "Handed out your heart" sung by Mui was played. Though only half of the song because it was cut off by the TV ad, Mui's voice was just so powerful, striking and different. Then a so called "pop queen" of today sang "Glowing Star", that made me miss Mui more, because under such comparison it just made me see more clearly how Mui could deliver the same song beautifully, smoothly and naturally with ease, but full of right feeling, while it might be a very difficult task for others.

It's sad that when you realize that all really talented people left one by one.

Lovely , I'm just jealous that you sent gift of such beautiful song of Uncle James to ana alone. Anyway, now I see something like unity between the "young" and "old" fans of Mui, but unfortunately joined together to give me pressure by talking about "your credibility", guess I can't anymore, especially when I fully agree to your 寶劍贈英雄,名曲覓知音, though there is no lacking of 知音 of his songs.

Great Grandma, since you are jealous, you have the exclusive right to spoil the . Now it has escalated to a matter of my credibility, so please take action. Don't use my credibility to sweep the floor.

Lovely , I'm just jealous that you sent gift of such beautiful song of Uncle James to ana alone. Anyway, now I see something like unity between the "young" and "old" fans of Mui, but unfortunately joined together to give me pressure by talking about "your credibility", guess I can't anymore, especially when I fully agree to your 寶劍贈英雄,名曲覓知音, though there is no lacking of 知音 of his songs.

ana, certainly you are a lucky one, keeps on spoiling you by forcing me to spoil you as well. ...Please use the toy to find the meaning of the phrase

Dear friends, I'm a bit irritated when cheerful conversation of something unrelated to James Wong is ongoing in this topic. This topic supposed to be reserved for leaving messages as a shown of respect for James Wong. How would you feel when a group of non-fans of Anita cheerfully chatting something on a topic that is reserved for remembrance on Anita in forum of other artist. I do enjoy your ongoing cheerful conversations but I supposed it is inappropriate to be in this topic. I'm sorry I'm too straight but I can't help. Forgive me for spoiling your moods. Foundation History

On December 30, 2003, we sadly lost superstar Ms Anita Mui. Being a very charitable person, she had devoted much of her life for the well being of the community both locally and internationally.

The Anita Mui “True Heart” Charity Foundation was legally registered in Hong Kong on July 27th, 1993 through the Law firm of Messrs Baker & McKenzie. The charity is administrated by a honorary panel of office bearers. Currently, the Foundation is administered by both Stevenson, Wong & Co. (legal) & Deloitle Touche Tohmatsu (Finance)

Fund-raising activities kicked off on October 22nd, 1993, in Toronto, Canada with a gala dinner hosted for 1,400 guests. A sold out concert was performed the following day by Late Ms Mui to a capacity crowd of over 5,000. Proceeds from the two events were donated to Dr. Lap Chee Tsui for his research on genetic diseases, to The United Way and a local Chinese Nursing Home.

Immediately following the success in Canada, Late Ms. Mui staged another concert in San Francisco to raise funds for Leonard Home, a home for the aged, which was jointly founded by Late Ms Mui and late Mr Leonard K.C. Ho.

Charity activities gathered momentum in Hong Kong starting early 1993. The climax of our events took place in the form of a star-studded Gala Dinner at Conrad Hotel on September 23, 1994. More than forty prominent artists together with 1,000 guests attended. A total of HK$7.5M was raised.

With the money raised, HK$2M was donated to Queen Mary Hospital in aid of the Bone Replacement Project. As a recognition to Late Anita Mui’s contribution, an operation theatre was named after her. Subsequently, the Anita Mui “True Heart” Charity Foundation has contributed by donations to various organizations including the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Flood Relief for China, Caring for Children Foundation, Kowloon Hospital, HK Museum of Medical Sciences and Department of Education, University of Hong Kong.

Fund-raising Proposal

In memory of Late Anita Mui, the Foundation has decided to launch series of fund-raising events. Fund raised will be donated to Centre For Cervical Cancer Prevention & Treatment where free cervical smears will be offered to women in need of help. This will be operated by Department of Gynecology, Queen Mary Hospital.

The major fund-raising event will tentatively be conducted on Sunday October 10, 2004 at TVB Jade Chanel. This will be a two-hour program co-organized by TVB and our Foundation.

Being a very charitable person in the society, you are cordially invited to be a co-chairperson for this meaningful fund-raising event. Through your associations, we hope a sum of HK$500,000 can be raised. The fund-raising format can be suggested by you and we will liaise prominent artists and media to ensure its success.

As a recognition to your most generous support, we will be honored to invite you as the co-chairperson to officiate the opening ceremony at the TVB program, with cheque presentation on site. We hope you can also participate in any of our pre fund-raising events like press conferences with heavy artist’s involvement.

We look forward to your favorable reply and will try our very best to make this a successful fund-raising event.

Best Regards,

Irene So

URGENT ATTN needed! SCAM or for REAL: Stamps from www.muifamily.net?

Went onto that website recently and got interested in ordering Anita's Stamp Collection through them as it offers that service.

I emailed them asking a few simple questions about what name to make the money order payable to and where to mail the payment etc.

I was shocked to receive a reply asking me to deposit money to somebody's personal bank account!
This obviously raises suspicion.
Nowadays with so many fraud cases on the internet, it seems silly anyone would make payment to a stranger's account and just trust (and HOPE) that the money would end up in Anita Mui's Foundation.

I apologize if the volunteers offering this service are truly legitimate.
Even if they are legitimate, I don't think they should operate this way.
This makes it too easy for somebody else with a criminal mind to claim oneself a volunteer, do a similar website, get the money and run.

I am not being critical, I just want to protect the reputation of Anita and her Charity Foundation. The last thing I want to see is a story on the NEWS saying there are people running off with donation money using Anita's Foundation name. It would be so hard for the Foundation to raise ANY money at all in the future if something like this happens.

Again, I apologize if the people at this website are legitimate, but they CANNOT operate this way. IF you know the people there, please explain to them my concern.

IF you don't know them, don't send them money. At least I won't, because how can I tell where the money will end up?

Re: URGENT ATTN needed! SCAM or for REAL: Stamps from www.muifamily.net?

I emailed the fan club regarding how to get the stamps and I got this reply:

"You can ask other fan club members you know to order the stamps for you. Or
you may browse the website www.muifamily.net which is created by a group of
volunteers for "¥|®ü¤@¤ß". You can contact them and order the stamps
directly.".

I guess the site is legitimate, but I still wouldn't trust my money with them like that.

Suggestions for the Executives of Anita's Charity Foundation

For the purpose of raising public enthusiasm in the Foundation's upcoming fund-raising events please consider the following:

1) Declare the financial independence of Anita's Charity Foundation.

In my mind, there is no doubt that the Charity operates independently, and that the money raised will be used for charity work only, NOT for paying lawyers in whatever legal battle there is between HongKong Bank and Anita's mother.

Unfortunately, I have read articles that have suggested possibilities of such a financial mix-up between Anita's Charity Foundation and her Estates. It is important for the Executives to come forward and publicly ensure people the financial independence of the Charity Foundation, thus make people more willing to donate money to the Foundation.

2) When Anita's Charity Foundation announces that it plans to make a donation to whatever individuals or organizations, it would be nice to add a very short explanation of how they decided on the chosen groups, and specifically what the money would be used for.

I am sure they have good reasons for their decisions, so just a short explanation of how the money would be spent would make people more enthusiastic when it comes to raising money for Anita's Foundation.

3) Offer channels for overseas fans of Anita to participate, for example, in buying the Stamp Collections.

I recently had the experience of coming across a website that claims to be volunteers helping people buy Anita's Stamp Collection. These people asked me to write a cheque payable to some person, to be deposited to someone's personal bank account!!!

IF these people are legitimate, the cheque should be made directly to the Foundation instead. I am not willing to pay some stranger, and just hope the money would end up in the Foundation.

If some desperate fans actually pay them, and these "voluneers" turn out to be crooks, who take the money and run, then Anita's Charity Foundation's reputation would be ruined. This would make it difficult for the Foundation to raise any money in the future. So offering proper channels for overseas fans to participate would be very helpful.

*******If someone can pass on these ideas to the Executives of Anita's Charity Foundation, or can tell me how to send these suggestions to them, please let me know. I know I am not the only one who has these ideas, but if the Executives hear the same type of things from different people over and over again, may be they will seriously consider them.

thanks.

Re: Suggestions for the Executives of Anita's Charity Foundation

Berry:

Actually you can find a message left by True Heart Foundation in this forum under the thread counted as the 4th one from the bottom (it is in Chinese), it was posted by manva on May 17, 04 - 11:57 PM. Half of the message is in Chinese, and the other half is an English letter from Ms Irene So of the Foundation. She also left her phone # and email address for contact.

So please read that letter to see if it can clear up some of your doubts about that Foundation, though it doesn't sound too convincing to me.

Also please forward your suggestion to her directly. Thank you!

Anita's Charity Foundation responded to my concern re Stamps Sale

I emailed Ms. So (ChairLady of Anita's Foundation) regarding my concern about volunteers who help us buy stamps but expect us to make cheques payable to the volunteers, and NOT to the FOUNDATION directly.

I told her my biggest concern is that even if these volunteers are legitimate, there is nothing to stop somebody else to claim themselves as "VOLUNTEERS", take the money and run. This would ruin the reputation of the FOUNDATION, the last thing we want to see.

Ms. So's reply:
".....Regarding your concern to buying the commemorative stamps through our volunteer Peggy Chu Suk Ying, we did authorized her to do so as it was planned to circulate only through core fans of Anita. However, your concern is very logical, so from now on, all purchases will be channeled through The Anita Mui True Heart Charity Foundation. Please order your stamps by paying money order to Anita Mui True Heart Charity Foundation. Mailing address is
Room 2611, Hang Lung Center, 2-20 Paterson Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong."

I am very happy with her response.
I must apologize to the volunteers at www.muifamily.net for questioning their legitimacy. Hope they will understand that I am only worried about opening up opportunities for some crooks to commit internet crime under the name of Anita's Foundation. I never meant to pick on these legitimate volunteers and I hope they are not offended.

Exclusive Flash Files for Sharing - (creator: me)

Dear All,

I'm in the early learning stage for Flash MV and focus much on ActionScript. The below 2 Flash files created by me are meant for sharing with Anita's die-hard supporters. As I go along and getting familiar with the ActionScript, more and more flash files focused on Anita (including FMV) will be created and if possible for sharing with fans in the future.

Re: Exclusive Flash Files for Sharing - (creator: me)

Woodstock,

Whenever it concerns creation or work, my initial is very important to me. That's why I cannot deliver my creation without my initial. Only our adorable 'kwei mei' is so straight-forward!!!

Any chance for you to comment in detail your view pertaining to the design and content for my third creation? I would appreciate feedback for future improvement. Without feedback, I really do not know whether there is anyone really use it or not. Then, how am I supposed to know the reaction from users if I want to continue to innovate more better designs Ooi my friend, without feedback can dampen the spirit of the creator who may see it as a failure. You know right?

Hah...Luckily today, I knew Dana did really go through my third creation and suggested for improvement. That I appreciate very much. Dana, Pepe ML dotes on you .

June,

I did nothing, not as much as you did for Anita. Do you know I see you a very rare kind of fan who can so so so loyal and love Anita wholeheartedly. Anita is proud of you. I'm proud of you too. Why can't you download the two files??? You may need to try few times and your problem still persists, let me know your email address (enough storage for 8mb; 4mb each file), I send them to you.

Re: Exclusive Flash Files for Sharing - (creator: me)

Uncle ML: don't try to run away anymore, as you will always be haunted by dear ana...

About your creation #3, I saw the original one, but could never get to view the improved one. Anyhow, will give you a general suggestion to bear in mind for any artwork, as I don't feel I like to comment your creation one by one as I'm not a critic

a) you need a theme
b) never deviate from the theme
c) don't be greedy, don't cram too many things to one creation
d) make it look artistic
e) make it simple to understand

Let's take your 2nd creation for an example, your text is supposed to be more important than the way it is delivered. But you made the blue ball so striking, readers stupid like me will focus on the ball more trying to find if it contained some meaning. Anyway, you know I'm stupid

I'm glad Kwei Mei will be your assistant. You will be okay. Keep on trying

Re: Exclusive Flash Files for Sharing - (creator: me)

Woodstock, Dana: Wow seh! You two never blink your eyes when 'criticizing' on my creations! My term is users always right! So your comments/suggestions/ideas have my fullest attention and consideration for improvement. Yeap Woodstock, a theme is crucial in attracting attention. Will put a theme for each creation in future development. My to both my 'abusers'. I'm proud of you two.

Dana, I've just uploaded the file "Tribute to Anita Mui" with improvement based on your last suggestion. Do you know how much difficult it is for unicode character and text? Flash MX can accept only unicode text from external file but cannot type it directly to the source file. So, I have to resort to use Xara3D and then convert to 'gif' format and apply the same movement as the photo. Now, it it more 'chinese like' but seems to match with the image of Anita in Cheongsam. The Chinese translation I get my friend to help to translate and input. Please...tell me you are satisfied now... (tell you something: you try to move your cursor over the small font text "ML copyright...." and halt your cursor. You will see something.....)

Woodstock, please try to download the latest version and you will find it much much better than the first version. At least, not too cram or too disturbing.

June, do you still face the same problem? Let me know should you still cannot? OK?
