From Sept 6, 2004 interested party can get the order form and instruction at Post Office, or all the outlets of Commercial Press (HK) Ltd. from 09/06 to 10/04. Completed application form can be handed back in person to any post office or mailed back. Also ordering can be done via internet http://www.hongkongpoststamps.com. Hotline (852) 2785 5711 for further queries.

Hi, Yes I'm here. This is great news. Timing is everything. I looked at the HK Postal Authority Website on Thursday the 2nd (because our contact at the HK Postal Authority had said wait until September), and I didn't find anything, so I thought that I'd try around the 15th. Lo and Behold, on the 3rd the Authority posted the news about the singers stamps on their website. I'm in 7th heaven as we say here in the States. Thanks to all of Anita's fans and supporters who sent in petition letters requesting a stamp for Anita.
I'm happy that the HK Postal Authority will honor other singing legends as well. Please keep me informed on any ceremonies that they may have for the public unvailing of the stamp designs. I may just try to schedule a trip to HK for that ceremony. Ah Mui I miss you so very much, you're in my thoughts daily.

In my heart, I'm cetain that other Anita fans sent in petition letters to request a commemorative stamp be issued for Anita, along with fans of the other singers. There had to be more people who wrote, because to get a subject/person nominated for a stamp takes many requests. Also, I think that Ah Mui touched so many people's lives in positive ways (by her Generosity, by her Talent, by her being a Big Sister, by her Caring, and by her Unselfishness),that those people (including me) wanted to memorialize Anita in a manner that would be befitting of a honored person whom they considered a family member. I'm pleased that I'm part of a group of people (actually a family) who love Anita and want to let others come to know her like we know her.
I notice that the date of the stamp's issue of Nov. 8, 2005, will be 2 years and 1 day to date that Barbara and I attended Anita's Nov. 7th concert in HK last year on Friday night...now that has to be more than coincidence.....I'll bet someone on the HK Postal Authority stamp nominating committee attended the Classic Moments Concert that night, and it is that person's way of paying tribute to Anita.

" is something I don't like to hear, because personally I would like to believe even no one ever requested for the stamps for Anita, the post authority will still depict Anita on this set of stamps.
I'm so excited about this stamp though I'm not a stamp collector, it is because I take this issuance of commemorative stamps for Anita as a recognition of Anita's contribution to the society as a pop legend by the HK government. This actually is the first and so far the only recognition Anita got from the government despite her continuous contribution to the society throughout her life. So the issuance also brought my regret to an end (I can now die without regret), as I always felt unfair for her for not getting any recognition.
Sorry Skippy, I brought such a stupid question to you. Actually it is not really important how the Post Authority chooses and decides the subject/person to be depicted on the stamp, and not my main concern at all. BTW, just for your information, many high ranking officials are great fans of Anita.

I too, am glad that HK government is going to finally recognize Anita. It is too bad that it had to be after her death, but it is a beginning, and who knows this could be the first of many long delayed honors that will be be bestowed upon her by her Country. Many of us never know how much someone meant to us until after they are gone. You never ask any "stupid questions", only thought provoking ones.
Related subject...I know you will probably do this, but just want to remind you..Be sure to buy more than just one first day cover (which actually an envelope with the stamps cancelled with the words "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE". Snoopy can fill you in on how to save and preserve the covers and the "mint" stamps for your region(since she is the stamp collector). If the stamps are not the "self-adhesive" kind with a backing on them, just make sure that you keep them in a dry place where the humidity can't get to the "mint" stamps and causing them to glue themselves even to the special paper that you put "mint" sheets of stamps into. If you put the mint sheets of stamps in a safe, then make sure you open the safe regularly to air it out, otherwise the humid air will accumulate in the safe and the stamp will glue themselves to the special paper even in the safe.

This is indeed Great News ! My Boss once mentioned that if one wish for something and wish it hard enough, the wish will come thru.(It actually worked, tested many times.)
Remember, i was just mentioning to you on 26 Aug 2004 about hoping HK Post will issue official stamps on Anita... Wow... talking about Brain power....
Next wish to come true is to have a full un-cut version of CM concert ( last nite concert ) issue this year-end or on her birthday in october.
I've mentioned before,i've a very strong feeling that this will happen, believe me, i've got very good sixth sense....
