Yee Hong charity show..

hey did anyone see the yee hong charity show???

i saw it and i was sooo happy that they're gonna name a hall after Anita Mui.

it was also soo cute to see Andy *** and Denise perform.

however, i'm reallie sad, knowing that Anita will never be in a charity show. but i'm glad that they commemorated her.

hey haruko!

ya.. i'm from Canada.

i've been liking Ah Mui eversince i was 5 years old, when my mom first told me about her. so for like...... 11 years??

u know, growing up in Canada, i had soo many artists to choose from. but the one artist i actually liked was only Anita Mui. she had this special spark in her, that no one has......she was very special.

I think none of the HK artists can replace Mui ever! She is such a devoted artist! Not many artists will think of the poor and donate so much money when they are rich and famous?! What do you guys think? Other artists should take her as a role model!

hi. i'm from toronto too.
and yes i knew who Leslie was. He was a talented artist who was close with Anita.

mingming:
i totally agree with u. not a lot of artists think of the poor when they become famous/rich. And even if they do ( and start doing charity work etc.) a lot of them do it for publicity-and not from their own heart. In my opinion i think Anita has the most purest of all pure hearts.

what does she want to be remembered for if she dies tomorrow

Hi, all

These few days, I was busy reading the 2001 and 2002 Anita's news and I came across the following article which I want to share with all off Anita's Fan.

Aug 2002 The Malaysian Women Weekly
Q) what does she want to be remembered for if she dies tomorrow?
A) ¡§I hope to be remembered by my fans as a person who was not just their idol, but as their friend. I believe that no matter what you do, knowing how to count your blessings and being thankful for them will bring you happiness.¡¨

I hope all the fans will remember her as what she want us to do..... cheers...

Woodstock,
Besides obtaining the 2001, 2002 and Jan - Mar 2003 articles from this address (http://muitimes.bravepages.com/m207int1.htm), where can I obtain the 2003 April onward...
Please Advise. Thanks.

Re: Majority out there still really cant accept it.

Looks like Mui has gained many new fans after her passing. It's worth pondering; wht I think:

Those born in e 70s & below must hv been exposed to Mui; this gp's either fans who adores her openly or non-fans: no open adoration but deep down inside, there's this non-eraseable memory of Mui & her many antics*; so they realize how much Mui means to them only after e loss.
P/s: I fall into e former category, can proudly say tht I've liked her since '82 & she'd gained a very important place in my heart by early 90s. e sadness here comes fr loosing a great talent, nothing to look forward to anymore (sob, sob)

Those born in e 80s & above hv either discovered Mui (v lucky as Mui's less contemporary after mid 90s) or not: hv not discovered Mui 'til it's too late. And the sadness here comes fr a sense of regret, wanting to make up the lost moments

Re: Majority out there still really cant accept it.

I've never been her fan in the beginning but I do notice her. The first time I saw her in those TVB entertainment shows, I find her fascinating esp when she dance. I guess her dancing attracted me. Her styles are always authentic and I thought to myself Wow! she is dynamic even w/out beauty.I love to watch her performing w/Leslie. They are such a sensational pair. Remember the opening song in 'ROUGE', the one she sang as Leslie walk into the room, its my fav.
From then on I started listening to her songs and watching her movies.
When news of her being sick, I dread it. When she announced that she has cancer, I feel sorry for her. Why does it have to happen to Anita? She appeared so energetic, such a lively person.
I cant accept her death too, till the day I'm at the other side of the horizon.
I make a comparison, Leslie and Anita, one ended his ownlife but the other was fated to die early, why do God create humans? What is life about? No one knows!

Re: Guitar chords for Mui's songs

This Canadian on-line store has a book of Mui songs written as piano music, most but not all of the songs have guitar chords. I got the book, the arrangements are by Danny *** ( so annoying, here's his name backwards--iuH) and are very simple, but it's better than nothing. 16 songs, from 1985 to 1999.

Mossimo,

It is supposed to be 17 VCDs and additional 1 VCD on her last TVB appearance hosted by DoDo Cheng.

Maybe, you can tell me what are those programs covered under the 15 VCDs, then only can I determine what is missing in your Singapore version.

Mossimo,

I guess what you are missing is further reports on her demise (including clips on the funeral service, fans paying last respect to her etc) for disc 16 to 17 on top of the very 1st disc.

As for the programme "Anita and her friends" is a single stand-alone disc which is not grouped together with the other 17 VCDs. This programme was released since last year December 2004 (even before Anita's demise). The Cantonese pronunciation sounds like this "Jen Shum Siong Jui"

Dana, I'm jealous of Jordan taking advantage of Anita. Just joking. I don't like the way Remus Choi expressed his blessing and appreciation for Anita. While others whispered over her ear, he was saying it loud not face to face with Anita, but in front of the audiences. Anita was just looking and listening attentively at him from the distance. His act don't seem sincere enough. I can see Anita really care for Denise Ho with longest time in hugging and the sweetest among them.

He stood up only when Anita was right in front of her seat and she was about to sit. It's so disrespectful.

Re: cervial cancer-go one by one-take care

My understanding to cervical cancer is:
The chance of getting cervical cancer is very high when a woman has sexual intercourses with over 3 men in their life time. Also, when a woman has sex with a guy who is sexually active with different partners, the chance of getting the cervical cancer is also higher.
I read several medical books that said only a small percentage of cancers will be inherited, and so as heart disease or Alzheimer's Disease. Most of the diseases can be prevented through taking the right food and having a healthy lifestyle (stress-free/regular sleep and exercise/drug-free and alcohol-free/a positive attitude).

Re: cervial cancer-go one by one-take care

Also, smokers (and second-hand smokers) are exposed to higher risk of cancers as everyone already knows.

My grandpa in HK was told that he would die in 3 months when he was found having cancer (final stage) 25 years ago. He was then treated by the doctors with radiation. After the treatment, all of his teeth fell in one day. And of course, it was a terrible physical experience for him after the treatments. But he was lucky to be introduced to some herbals (which now existed in a N. American supplement) and his cancer was gone after one month. The doctors felt surprised. Today, he is already 85 years old. (Before he's got cancer, he used to eat a lot of meat with fat, and some other stuff that have been proven to cause cancer.)

Re: cervial cancer-go one by one-take care

You are right, Jack! Pollution is also a major factor. The polluted air is linked to different types of allergies, breathing problems and other diseases. The chemical cleaners that we use at home, the chlorinated water (with heavy metals from the water boilers and pumping system) that we use from our bathroom and kitchen taps make us inhale toxic chemicals each time we use it. We absorb more chlorine while showering than drinking water because in that 15-minute shower, you not only inhale the chlorine but also let the chlorine infiltrate your skin. The chlorine combines with protein-rich element which results in brittle hair, flaky skin and possibly red eye skin ( I have experienced that until I changed the showerhead filter system). Researches have shown that chlorinated water and fluoride are linked to arthritis and cancers.

Re: cervial cancer-go one by one-take care

Al,
I don't understand why you said this:
"i think it is not really, my ant really wash what she eat but she still have cervial cancer????
she was death the ages of 40, how to say that ???????"

Washing the food doesn't mean the food will be good for intake. If you wash an apple with water and eat it without having the skin peeled off, then you are eating wax into your stomach. Those things are cancerous. The farmers have to spray pesticides on most of the vegetables and fruits to preserve the freshness. If it hasn't been washed properly, then you are eating toxic stuff slowly into your stomach. They already have greens cleaning solution in the grocery stores that will take off about 90 percent of the pesticides/wax from the food. Charcoaled, deep fried, salted, preserved food are directly linked to cancer. Having an X-ray each time will increase your chance of having cancer. The woman who invented X-ray actually died of cancer by X-raying herself for too many times. Why fast food is not good? Because they use high heat to make the food (grilled/deep fried) and that will change the chemical structure of the meat that will create free radicals when entered the body. The free radicals will develop into cancer or other chronic diseases such as heart disease. Think about why the traditional Chinese saying says eating steamed food is healthier than eating fried/preserved food. You can borrow some medical books from the library and read about how/why cancer develops. 30 years ago, 1 in 20 ppl dief of cancer. Now, 1 in 4 ppl died of cancer. It is the environment and the life style that are the major killers.
Again, in my last message, I said there is only a small percentage of cancers that are inherited. I am not a doctor, and I am only referring to what has been written by the medical professionals.
Hope you understand.

Fan Club in Singapore?

Anyone of you know how to get in touch with the Fan Club in Singapore?
There are plans to do a Tribute to Anita Mui Show (for Charity) towards the end of the year and I would like to get in touch with them and hope I can canvass some volunteers.
Thank you very much

I WANT HER BACK

I WANT YOU BACK

If I had my life to do over
I would have you to be my “big sis?
I would not let someone to hurt you
I would care, sharing and love
But, for you are now forever gone,

It is worth all the tear in the world,
You are my sunshine ,when skies were grey,
I loved you and honored you
You never off my mind,

You took all my tears a way
I was happy to be with you,
I proud of your performance on a stage
strong and powerful

Your love was always pure to friends
You treated us as your own
Your life is too short
What can I take from this

My heart is completely crushed inside,
But, nothing loved is ever lost
And your love so much ,

I will stay strong and get tough
Even you had gone
YOU ARE GREATLY MISSED.

What a selfless Anita - an inspiration to fans

If one day I know my days are numbered and I was in great pain and so weak and at the same time, so busy with all kinds of life-threatening treatments, I would not bother to think about how my wealth can be effectively managed for future use by living beings. I consider myself as a selfish person who would think of myself first before others when come to term with my money and when I'm dying, I don't care where the money will go to as I cannot bring my money with me. Think of Anita who thinks of others before her. She takes care of others even to her last minute. She is selfless and very smart in engaging a trustee to manage her wealth and assets for the sake of living beings. She is willing to donate most of her hard-earned money to the charity. She is the smartest woman I have ever met, to have thought of consequences and conflict of interests to her estates among her family.

[Anita: I will never leave you unattended or unloved.}

How can you give money to those in need when you have already left the world?????? Misleading term????? You seem more like attacking me with your unfriendly words using different pseudonyms (Le, TT, SD etc}. In here, you post your own will rather than to voice your thoughts on Anita?????

A good person is not someone who think himself/herself is good and better than others. I dare to admit my own mistakes and shortcomings and that makes me a better person. Who knows I do more good deed than you do? Do concentrate on your feelings for Anita and stop attacking me.

Re: What a selfless Anita - an inspiration to fans

I came across this message and thought very much of Anita and how she lived her live. A good model to live by.

Live A Life That Matters Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
It will not matter how much power you have in your community.
It will not matter how popular you became by stepping on others.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched,
empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

Re: when mui jei left ,did she made you change ??????

I've looked at life very differently. And especially the article in Buddhist Compassion help me looked at death differently.
It is sad that Mui chose to leave us, but even in death, she continues to inspire.
Before, I knew Mui as an artiste, now I know her more as a person through the many many articles about her.
Before it was her professional works that inspire me to be what I am. Now her strength and selfless dedication to others and charity serves as a shinning beacon of example to me.
Now i no longer cry but look back with fond memories and strive to complete my live in a more worthly way.

How to make Anita Happy.

For the past 100 days, I have been overwhelmed with this deep sadness from losing Anita.

However, I woke up one morning a few days ago thinking ..... well, at least we don't need to worry about her anymore.
We don't need to worry anymore if she is in pain, if she is responding to treatment.
We don't need to worry anymore if she is unhappy.
These are all in the past.

She is now in the best place she could be.
She is now in the best place she has ever been.
She is now in the place she most wanted to be.

What's left to be done now is for us to learn from her lovable traits/characteristics.
(See "TAKE HOME MESSAGES from ANITA's LIFE AND DEATH" by Yogi from March 2004).
We should treasure our lives, our friends, and families.
Be caring to others and help those in need.
Be as generous as possible to others.

IF we can become a "better" person because of her influence, she will know, and she would be really proud of us.

If we can truly learn from her and accomplish more in life as a result of the way she has inspired us, she would know, and she would be really happy.

Isn't that the least we could do for her in return for all that she has done for us?

Re: woodstock feed back pls

hi, just curious and checked out the link u shown, but not working. anyway I managed to find the item in ebay, it's mui's CD with 4 japanese song, right? If this is right, may I share some thought. First of all, never seen this before. Then the introduction written on the site is self explanatory..... "self created" , it's not legal item since it's created by someone.... So think carefully, u may not find it pleasant to know when u receive the goods.... If I were to follow suit, I would be guarantee some very good and lucrative money!!!! And pls beware as some of the items on Ebay is not authentic or original.... ok?

Re: woodstock feed back pls

AL, if you go to ebay and search, u can find many items up for bidding. U choose the item and it will briefly introduce the product. So the introduction already mentioned in writing that this CD is sef created. No chinese involved, pure english and I guess most ppl do not bother to read the intro before deciding. To me there's no different (buying this in ebay) compare to buying piracy copy from street vendor, then again, this is much more high tech, global and higher value, right?
Don't get carry away with possesing what ever available in the market. Carry Mui's memory in your heart rather than possesing material in concern with mui.........

WOW! Break Open The Iceberg still standing at No.1 position

Check out the HKVP site! Top 5 at No.1 position. Anyone saw the 1986 show? She was singing this song. She had on a devilish costume w/knee-length hair and stunning make-up. Very impressive.

BOTIb went down but Anita's song Intimate Lover is now at N0.2 position.
This is a great song too. One of the song she sang in her Fantasy Gig 2002.

Differences between Buddhism and Taoism

There is much difference between Buddhism and Taoism believe. What Mui Ma did for Anita's 100th day ritual was based on Taoism, not Buddhism. What the other party (Mrs Ho and others) did at the Buddhist temple is pure Buddhism way of praying for Anita.

Just being curious why Mui Ma never hold a pure Buddhism prayer for Anita I believe because Mui Ma is a Taoism believer. Anita herself is a pure Buddhist.

I'm not undermining any religion but just want fans to know the differences between these two religions. Every religion should be respected but I hope Anita should be given the exact prayer based on her own religion.

In the latest issue (number 7) of Sirens of Cinema magazine is a two-page article by Kevin Collins, the Asian/Hong Kong editor. It's the best, the most moving I've read so far.
