FB: I don't know the answers to all your questions, but will try my best for those I know. Everyone got the same packaging as you have, with the little booklet and cosmestics. No gossip about Ultima II, guess just a sponsor of this album, and just wishing fans would buy this brand after using the free samples. I don't know how to reply your other 2 questions, as I never watched the movie "City of lost children", though did watch "Dead poet's society". I feel the lyric of "Dead poet's society" very sarcastic and in a way very humorous . I felt ridiculous too that Mui Mui threatened to sue Mui for using her own name. Mui has had this name since her birth, but that Mui Mui never has a history of that long. Also another funny story related to this CD is: CA put a billboard ad at the entrace to the cross harbour tunnel, the original ad was Mui in the T-shirt as the picture at the cover of the CD box. But the HK Traffic (or Road) department complained that this T-short would distract the drivers, thus indirectly would cause accidents. So CA was told to change the design of the T-shirt. |

Indian Ocean: you d'd better translate your message to English or Chinese, as we don't like anymore of our readers to [join the crowd lined up outside the door of Dana's doctor friend's office! ] Okay, I will try the "toy" here. Seemingly it works better with French: 1st message: It's a super job! Congratulations! 2nd message: Does Mui Jei have a godson who lives in France, Angel, do you know it (I have made slight change in last part, to make it more like English]. |

Woodstock, it's amazing, you are the William's sisters coach, you've been Anita's personal massage therapist, it's seems you've been her 'international language' teacher as well.... wonder how you find time doing so many things... + all the translation you do... You must be a 'SpiderWoman'.... cos Anita used to be a 'WonderWoman' |

Hi Woodstock, Thank you for uploading Nostalgic Posters. But I cannot see the whole pictures. They cut off the below where her autograph begins. Is it possible for me to buy Mingpao Weekly [Anita Mui Memorial Edition]? About video clip, is it one broadcated in her memorial special programs on Jan. 12? |

Woodstock hello!! I also want to buy the book. Until when is the Book Exhibition and where is it located? Thanks in advance! |
|
dana IP: 218.111.1.83 Jul 17th, 2004 - 3:10 AM |
Thank you! Woodstock! From the Nostalgic posters, I adored the 1st poster. Theres a certain mysterious n satisfaction look in those big eyes. Biggest consolation of all her signatures is the one in the #8 poster. It is very rare to see both her chinese name n Anita signed in such a distinctive manner. Very professional! |
|
Woodstock IP: 218.103.251.254 Jul 17th, 2004 - 6:56 AM |
AT: the video is about 5 minutes long showing people paying respect to Mui on the 11th. It might be included in the program you mentioned, but might not be exactly the same. So pls take a look if you have time. About the poster, actually my scanner is not that big, difficult to scan the whole poster. Anyway, not too much to be shown for the lower part, except the signature. But you can see the whole signature on the Poster #8. June: the Book Exhibition will be held from July 21st to 26th, at Hong Kong Convention Centre, Wanchai. Mingpao's booths will be in Hall # 1 & # 5, but in hall #1 you will find booths 1G29 and 1G31 where the memorial edition will be sold. That is all the information I have on hand now. I don't know the price. |

Lovely instrumental piece, the melody is somewhat different, quite sad compared to Anita's singing this song. Who is the performer? Thank you for sharing, 'mysterious ??' |

My Little Dana, that instrumental song was converted from a CD audio where there isn't any mention on who the erhu player was. So can't tell ooi. Guess you know "Erhu". Alright, since you are into meditation, I've uploaded some good New Age music tracks by world-class composers/musicians to accompany you as listed belows: Kitaro-Mirage, Silk Road Kevin Kern-Sundial Dream Enya-A Day without Rain Kenny G-SongBird Enigma-Gravity of Love Do enjoy!!!!! Frankly speaking, I listen to New Age music/songs a lot lot more than any pop songs. I can tell you Anita's songs the only pop songs I like to listen. Other than that, I revert to New Age musics/songs. |

'little' Hi 'mysterious??' Thank you for your additional downloads. Sorry to disappoint you, the 'kevin n enya' are not suitable for meditation. The piano recital is not serene enough, I would say more disturbing. Enigma is a favourite of mine n has been in my collection for sometime. Thanks anyway. Will check the others later. Maybe you should try meditation too, keeps your sanity intact n ease your mind from multiple complex identity.. Btw, what is 'ooi'? |

June, suprised to hear you have the same taste as me for Enya's songs. I like Celtic songs and musics, which are full of inspirations. Loreena McKennitt and Secret Garden yet another Irish singers/composers whom I admire. Try Nocturne by Secret Garden. This celtic song is best of the best. FB, those names you mentioned sounded familiar but I can't tell who they are. Actually I have quite few number of instrumental musics on Anita's songs including the "heart debt" composed by Koo Kar Fei. Unfortunately, I placed those CDs in my other home in another country. Dana, "Ooi" is just a rich friendly exclaimation I used to emphasize my sentence. Just like "laa" "loh". Do you know what is "kiasu" and "kiasi" in Singapore slang? Talking about meditation, I'd once joined a group of over 500 trainees (men, women, children) in a huge hall. Can't really go into detail as I almost forgot what I've gone through. But I can remember vividly one incident where one of the trainee was possessed. I can't really tell whether it was the spirit moving as it was a big nerve like a blood clot moving within and around her throat up and down non-stop until someone brought her out and calmed her down. I'd never seen such a strange phenomenon ever happened to a human before and it was really spooky. She was just sitting beside me. It happened during her deep meditation. Maybe she didn't go through the right path. So, I would suggest you to follow the right path of meditation guru with good intention. And if possible, try to be a vegetarian few days and on the meditation day. Are you scared now??? |

dana IP: 218.111.1.83 Jul 17th, 2004 - 3:06 AM |
Yea..please enlightened me, ML, whats the meaning of those 2 words? Is it widely used in Singapore? Ml, it is not advisable to join group meditation as most participants couldnt focus n concentrate well. Dont worry abt me, so far Im doing fine with the help of the chanting n under Dana's doctor friend's office, patients hours are over, Woodstock, FB. Btw, any more new registrations? |

|
Uncle ML IP: 218.111.22.145 Jul 18th, 2004 - 7:53 AM |
Dana, the two are Singlish (slang Singapore English) widely used in Singapore and Malaysia. These two words are hokkien words and now have been gradually recognized by western countries and even recorded in some of the English dictionaries. "Kiasu" means "afraid to lose". "Kiasi" means "afraid to die". Singaporeans used to be kiasu and kiasi because they do not wish to be left behind. They always strive to work harder and smarter, do not wish to lose any chance, any opportunity for anything. No exception to majority of Malaysian Chinese. This is our way to show we can do what others can do, and always try to do better. |

Those are not my photos I went to a website and it linked to those photos. I have not watched any chinese concerts for 6 years. I don't really follow chinese newspaper/tv too much in Canada and I missed her concert. At the same time I probably could not go because I used to work 4pm to 12am. |

Anita Mu was superb in A
Better Tomorrow 3 I remember as a little child (1980s) listening to some of her songs while growing up in a Chinese household in the USA. Her voice/pitch was absolutely stellar and rich. I was still a child so I didn't know the names of her songs. I only recall my mother and older siblings refering to her as "Mui Yim Fong" and that she became well-known in the Chinese community. ...And now I'm older (23 to be exact) and now have this infatuation about Anita. It started as a result of watching the "A Better Tomorrow" series. (If you have never seen "A Better Tomorrow 1,2 & 3", I suggest you go see it in that order. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it.) Well anyway, Anita stars in part 3 which sets in the 1970s during the fall of Saigon. There's a part in the movie where they play one of Anita's most popular songs. It immediately took me back as a child when I originally heard it. What was the name of Anita's song in "A Better Tomorrow 3"? BTW, Anita was great in "ABT3" throughout and she fit the role well. "ABT3" wasn't as action packed as 1 & 2, but I liked what they decided to do in terms of the authenticity of using the 1970s political/military upheaval in Asia. I'm glad they didn't decide to go the route of making part 3 like 1,2. Well, if anyone could tell me Anita's song in "A Better Tomorrow 3", I would be very grateful. I will never forget Anita Mui. I still play that song in my mind right now. Kam Wing |

Yes, I definitely agree that Anita's acting in the film was superb! The name of the song is Xi Yang Zhi Ge or The Song of Dusk (if u translate song name to English). Anita sang this song wearing a wedding gown in her final concert. This song was also in her 2002 Fantasy Gig concert. This song also won the Golden Song award in the 1990 Jade Solid Gold Awards Presentation. |

YC, if I'm not mistaken, the year was 1989. Cause in the year 1990 Anita did not participate anymore in the awards. |

Kissing Scene Dear All, Hope this is not a taboo topic here. Ur feedback is highly anticipated, thks in advance. I realized tht e M'sian censorship board has savagely scissored e kissing & opium scenes fr e Rogue vcd distributed here after watching e dvd version fr yesasia. I'm wondering now if i'm deprived of other Mui kissing scenes; e board spared some scenes from e Greatest Lover but I think there's a cut between e scene where Chow was (pretending) 2 be drunk after a party & Mui was talking 2 herself (v good acting btw) trying 2 contain her feelings for him, she ran upstairs then Chow smiled & e next scene showed e next morning. Anything happenned in between, can someone tell me? |

hi all, With regards to The Greatest Lover, I think there's one more scene in between Mui talking to herself and running up the stairs. She was talking to herself in the balcony, then she went back inside the house and kiss Chow. It's either on the forehead or on the lips, I forgot, but she did kiss him before she ran up the stairs. I watch bought the DVD in HK. Hope the above info is useful! |
