Anita Mui I'm your fan in Bangkok, Thailand. I'm very Sorry to know this shocking news. I have been your fan since 1982. and follow your work until now. You make me know a friend who also adores you. I used to see your concert in 1992. Once I visited Hong Kong, I bought a lot of material of yours such as tapes, vinyls, cds, vcds, laserdiscs, dvds, posters, etc. Although I do not know the meaning of your songs, I love your singing voice, rhythm, and melody. I saw your movies too. I do hope to wait for your latest concert in coming dvd + any unreleased materials soon. inspiration Not only were you a great singer and talented actress, you were also a great inspiration to me. I grew up in America and did not have many Asian influences in my life, until one day I saw you in a movie and I was struck by your charisma. My Cantonese was rusty and I didn’t really understand the movie. I had to watch it about 10 times reading the subtitles. I was young then and I remembered I had to save up money to go out and buy your latest cds or rent your newest movies. Later, you inspired me to get in touch with my Chinese side and learn Chinese. One of the first words I had to learn to read and write was your Chinese name because I needed to know how to pick out your cds and movies. You were a wonderful role model, you were very strong and out spoken. I admired everything about you. Anita Mui I wasn't a really big fan of hers, but when I heard about her death, I really couldn't believe it actually happened!! These couple of nights, I could barely even slept since I was so upset about this heart breaking news!! I guess it was since she was so young still!! It's just that we see her like on the news every single day and now... she's gone!! Well, I just hope that all her friends, family, and fans will always remember her in their heart and never forget what she has brought to us!! |

I miss you, Anita I grew up with Anita. I grew up with her music and her movie. She was my childhood hero. I also dreamt that I could find someone special and we can be a couple like Anita and Leslie. That was like a fairy tale comes true. As both of them passed away, all I can say is I miss them. day I grew up listening to Anita Mui's music in the 80's. She helped define my generation with her originality, her beautiful songs, and most importantly her unique and endearing persona. I found out about her passing before leaving for work, and it totally devastated me. I still can't imagine she's not around. I will always cherish her songs, every time I listen to them I am brought back to a time when I was young, how simple life was. Anita Mui, wherever you are, I hope you are happy, thank you for your songs, you will always live in my memory. |

to see a diva leave us. I can't say I was a very loyal fan. However, inspite of that, I grew up with her songs. I remember singing her songs for my relatives at family gatherings at the age of 4. This just shows that she was truly an ICON of her time. She really impacted the entire Chinese community with her music. will always be in my heart I wasn't even born when anita won the her very first singing award in the 1st ever new talent singing competition. But that just means that I can truly say I have, from the day I was born grown up listening to her music. She was my first ever Chinese pop idol and I can still remember when I was young always singing her song. And to have heard that she has passed away is just so upsetting that my feeling cannot be put merely into words. But may we all bless and pray for Anita now and hope that she is resting in peace. I, hereby, want to apologize to all the family, friends and fans about Anita Mui's death. It was out of my expectation as I thought she would be able to fight against the deadly disease. What had past remains history, the glory of Anita Mui is not an ordinary person could do and succeed. In short, Anita Mui is truly irreplacable. My first concert
with Anita.... My very first concert was to see Anita in Chicago at the McCormick Place, I can㦙 remember how old I was- no more then 10yrs old. But I remember that I had to gather all my courage as a little girl to go walk down the long aisle just go shake her hand. I still remember my heart keep telling me that 衠ust do it, you been waiting so long to meet her, GO? My heart was pounding ever step I took. Until the moment I reached out to shake her hand. I𠑥l never forget that moment. My heart stopped pounding and I was so happy. I remember she was so beautiful, and when she shook my hand I felt the kindness of her heart. I remember her saying?幈H! I didn㦙 put the kids to sleep with my music? She had a great sense of humor. Couple of weeks ago, Andy Lau held a concert in Las Vegas, my Boyfriend and I was there sitting there waiting for Andy to come on stage, then he ask me a question. 𠐓esides Andy who else would you like to see perform here in the States? I said 鎽ackie and Anita-if I never see another Chinese concert again it will be Jackie and Anita. But now I won㦙 have that chance. = ( I𠍿 so deeply sadden and hurt by the lost of a great entertainer that I felt truly cared about her fans. I first took noticed of you in recent hong kong films like Legend of Drunken Master, Rumble in the Bronx, and A Better Tomorrow 3. And you had so much energy and potential, and I'm sure you would've done so much more if the circumstances were not so tragic. Mui Family I don't much about Anita beause ia m Indian girl but when i read all the artical about her, my heart shared with tear, her spirit of fighting the cancer were to be praised. Although she loose in a battle but she win in the battle of love's[fan]. She really ready to continue her journey in new destiny,that why she goes peacefully and beautiful[ where some of us are dare not to face it]. will always remain a part of me! You will always remain a part of me! The news has been very shocking and like alot of people from all over the whole, I am mourning the great loss! Anita has been part of my growing up and no one can ever replace the memory of the wonderful 80s where Canto-pop was at it's best! Even at discos you could hear those very firmilar songs by the 3 'ruling' Kings and Queen - Anita Mui, Alan Tan & Leslie Chueng! Very sad indeed that out of the 3 only 1 remain now. When I heard the news this morning, I felt as if a part of me had died too. Try as I might, tears flowed freely as I drove to work! I mourn the loss as with alot more people are doing so too even as I pen my thoughts now. I know we will all miss her but lets learn from her courage and stand brave in our sorrow. Anita, though you are no longer here with us, your courage, your generousity, your caring ways will always be remembered and will be my example of how I should live my life.
